I began drawing as soon as I could pick up a pencil and it looked like I had something of a knack with graphite. Unfortunately things didn't go so well when it came to my studies. I failed Art at school and subsequently dropped out of college early to pursue a career in music. That was back in 1990 and I didn't pick up my pencils in anger until a many years later. In fact my next serious piece of artwork would not come until early 2000. Over the 10 years that followed my main involvement with art was through the collection of tattoos - something that continues to this day.
Finally, around 2009 reality dawned and I realised that it really is never too late to pursue your dreams and make your talents work for you and so I embarked on the long, and sometimes painful process of making art my profession as well as my passion. To this day I have my 'day job' working in Product Marketing and Management but the Art continues to grow and take up more and more of my
I am currently busy building up my portfolio, some of which you can see in the ARTWORK section of this site. My recent work has been on projects that immortalise the legends of the modern Rock and Metal scene - recently completing large scale portraits of Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Chester from Linkin' Park and American Metal Gods; Five Finger Death Punch as well as designing an album cover for a friend's band. My aim is to grow this aspect of my work and add other artists in the future. I do however have many other subjects that I love to draw, particularly the natural world.
My speciality is achieving realism through the medium of graphite and I have a philosophical view of the world when it comes to my art; "Not everybody will like what I draw, but that's fine - if we all liked the same thing the world would be a pretty dull place!"
Like all artists I have my preferred style and subject matter but I am of course always open to new requests and commissions.
